Weapons

Here you will find everything about the weapons in use with the Dutch militia.
Following the Dairy of the Baron van Zuylen van Nyevelt (can be found elsewhere on this site)
the whole 2nd division had replaced their French or German
muskets for British ones by June 1815.
That is except the 2nd battalion, 28th regiment and the Nassau Volunteer jagers. They had just arrived. On the 15th they
were ordered to exchange their muskets for Britisch ones. But because of Quatra Bras there was no time to do the exchange.
The 8th militia was therefore issued with the Brown Bess.
The Brown Bess, model S260. Caliber 19,05 mm (0.75 inch). Length; 1066 mm.
